Bradley Vines is a cognitive neuroscientist interested in music, emotion, and medicine and a saxophonist with training in jazz improvisation and Carnatic Indian classical music. He holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology from McGill University, an MBA from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley. Bradley was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School, supported by grants from the GRAMMY Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California Center for Mind and Brain, and a Research Associate at the Institute of Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.


He was a Director of Neuroscience at Nielsen Consumer Neuroscience from 2013-’20, during which time he conducted research for many global brands, including Coca-Cola, Unilever, LinkedIn, and Google, with a focus on how music affects sonic branding, memory formation, emotional engagement, and behavior change. Bradley is now the Chief Science Officer at Wavepaths, which is a service providing personalized music both as therapy and in support of psychedelic-assisted therapy, in collaboration with world-class artists. He also teaches Music Cognition for Berklee College of Music’s online program.
